DeSiRe-NG project will develop tools and methods with which the performance characteristics can be recorded, possible disturbances can be detected and thus avoided. Furthermore, the resilience in the own 5G network can be investigated by emulation in order to increase it. DeSiRe-NG also aims to develop results that can be transferred to the next generation of radio technologies.
The use case of Lufthansa Industry Solutions (maintenance of an aircraft engine) addresses the need for resilient radio-based communication technologies in a particularly sensitive branch of industry.

The objective of the DeSiRe-NG project is to develop tools (measurement framework, QoS explorer, digital twin, toolbox and emulation) to support agile application development in 5G and beyond 5G networks with higher resilience to disruptions and non-performance. For this purpose, applications and their communication are specifically examined for their resilience, and performance and resilience are modelled and measured in a controlled environment – under a wide range of influencing factors.
