Cologne, 20.08.2024. ‘Fantasy Fitness Fights VR’ goes beyond pure entertainment value and motivates people to keep fit and healthy through play. The project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, will be presented to the public for the first time at Gamescom 2024.
As part of Gamescom 2024, Nuromedia GmbH from Cologne will be presenting a first demo of the virtual reality exergame ‘Fantasy Fitness Fights VR’ in the Business Area, Hall 2.2, Stand D-029. Exergames, also known as fitness games, challenge players to make physical reactions and body movements.
‘Fantasy Fitness Fights VR’ is a rogue-lite game for virtual reality devices in which players are whisked away into a fantastic world of magic and adventure. They face off against attacking opponents using challenging hand and body movements. The body and gesture controls allow players to defend themselves, attack enemies with weapons and cast spells.
The purpose of the exergame is to prevent lack of exercise and motivate players to keep fit and healthy, for example by having to perform specific movements to attack opponents or defend themselves.
‘Fantasy Fitness Fights VR’ offers both casual gamers who want to move more and improve their physical fitness, as well as hardcore gamers, an action-packed virtual reality game. It not only offers a variety of challenges and opponents, but also allows you to improve and master your skills in terms of gameplay and do something for your health.
‘Fantasy Fitness Fights VR’ will receive project funding from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection in the amount of EUR 779,704.00 for production during the project period from 1 August 2023 to 31 January 2025.
